The Storm to Come is a historical fiction book by Yankev Glatshteyn and translated into English by Jeffrey Sandler. The book was originally published in Yiddish as Emil un Karl ("Emil and Karl") in 1940. It was released in the My Story series in January 2010.

"Emil and Karl are best friends. Emil is a Jew; Karl isn't. When three men take Karl's mother away, who knows where, and the Nazis murder Emil's father, the two boys find themselves alone and scared, wandering in an increasingly hostile city. Who can they trust and where can they go...?
This book was first published in 1940–at the beginning of the Second World War. The author witnessed life under the Nazis first-hand and many situations he writes about really happened...
