The Royal Diaries is a series of three television films that aired on HBO in 2000. The films were based on Scholastic's The Royal Diaries, a series of fictional diaries about famous princesses. Kristiana Gregory's Cleopatra VII: Daughter of the Nile, Kathryn Lasky's Elizabeth I: Red Rose of the House of Tudor, and Carolyn Meyer's Isabel: Jewel of Castilla were the books adapted for the film series. They were released separately on home video shortly after airing, and on DVD together in 2008 under the title, The Royal Diaries.
