Suffragette: The Diary of Dollie Baxter is the thirteenth book in Scholastic UK's My Story. It was written by Carol Drinkwater, her third for the series. Suffragette is also a sequel to Drinkwater's Twentieth-Century Girl. The book was first published in May 2003, and reissued with new cover art in January 2011 and June 2015.

"18th June, 1910
We marched from the Embankment to the Albert Hall. It was a glorious day. The sun shone warmly. Everyone was in good spirits. There were aristocrats, artists, even my mother looked happy. She who has been so opposed to my work with the WSPU. More than 10,000 people had rallied and there were dozens of bands playing. It was quite incredible. We waved banners, carried flowers, sang along with the tunes. Hundreds who have been imprisoned for our Cause marched together in a powerful band. It was all very rousing of spirit. I felt proud to be a woman, proud to be alive, proud to be a part of a movement that is fighting to make a difference."

Carol Drinkwater is a writer, actress, and filmmaker whom resides in France. She has written books for all ages, including her Olive series. Drinkwater is also known for her portrayal of Helen Herriot in All Creatures Great and Small. Suffragette was her third book for My Story. She has also written The Hunger, Twentieth-Century Girl, and Nowhere to Run.

Shared continuity

Suffragette is the sequel of Twentieth-Century Girl, which was published in July 2001. The book follows Dollie Baxter's guardian Flora Bonnington as a young girl. It also explores themes of women's suffrage, which was more heavily focused on in Suffragette.
